International arbitrations

Some international disputes, even commercial ones, may also involve security aspects. For example, many foreign companies who used as contractors in Arab states during the ‘Arab Spring’ events suffered from attacks on their sites with no sufficient protection provided to them.  The hosting state usually argued that it was a force-majeure case in which the state lost control, couldn’t provide any protection and therefore shouldn’t be held accountable.

Many of the companies that decided to sue the hosting sates for their heavy losses needed to prove otherwise, and therefore required a security expert with sufficient experience in the middle east and in national security.

General Eiland successfully participated more than once in such international arbitrations as a security expert witness and was also involved in many other types of disputes or consulting projects where a national security expertise was needed.
